Chairman’s Statement 2024

Dear Grace Crocker Family Support Foundation Supporters,

As we reflect on the past year, I am humbled and grateful for the continued support you have shown the Grace Crocker Family Support Foundation. Our aim is to help families who need to spend time in the UK with a sick child receiving hospital treatment. Our entire mission is to support families at times when they need it most.

Through your generous support in 2023, I am proud to report that we have supported 36 families and deployed £51,863.

I would also like to thank our small and dynamic team of volunteers who worked so hard to keep up the fast pace of last year’s growth activities. They did so with passion and flexibility, all because they care so much about the charity’s existence and what it means for people in Jersey affected by the stress and challenges of looking after a sick child. I am delighted to announce the newest additions to our Board of Directors, Amanda Reilly and Zena Whiteley. Their wealth of experience and passion will undoubtedly strengthen our charity and contribute to the continued success of our endeavours. Nicola Connolly also joined the team as Head of Marketing bringing a fresh perspective and innovative ideas to our marketing strategy.

We continue to work very closely with Family First to ensure that those families who really need our help get it. Looking ahead, we aspire to expand our reach and deepen our impact. We are exploring new partnerships and refining our strategies to ensure the long term sustainability of the charity. Your continued support is crucial as we look forward to 2024 and beyond.

I extend my deepest gratitude to our volunteers, donors, and partners who have made all of this possible. Together, we are making a difference in the lives of many at a time when they need our collective support.

Turning to our fundraising activities, we start 2024 with our 164 Mile Challenge which takes place during the month of February. Now in its fourth year, the Challenge encourages people to walk, jog, run or even swim 164 miles – the distance from Jersey to Southampton – throughout the month. We raised a record-breaking total of over £25,000 last year so, with your support, we hope to exceed that this year!

Later in the year, we will host our Charity Golf Day, Fun Run and Gala Ball – more information will be released on those events nearer the time.

May we take this opportunity to thank each and every single person who has supported the charity during 2023. We look forward to building on our great work so far and helping more families in 2024.
